Bothell, Washington

Bothell is a city in King and Snohomish counties in the state of Washington, United States. It is located on the northeast edge of Lake Washington and is part of the Seattle metropolitan area. Bothell is situated at the mouth of the Sammamish River at the northeast end of Lake Washington. Kenmore is to the west, unincorporated North Creek is to the north, Woodinville is to the east, and Kirkland is to the south. The Sammamish River or one of its tributaries, like North Creek or Swamp Creek, receives the majority of the city's water. 

The climate in Bothell is temperate oceanic, with warm summers and chilly winters. Winters in Bothell are dark and rainy, with substantially more rainfall than summers. Summers are drier, with temperatures ranging from cold to warm.

Bothell features a number of public art installations, most of which may be seen in the downtown area or on the campuses of the University of Washington Bothell and Cascadia College. The Arts Commission has created a gallery at the new city hall with space for paintings, sculptures, and on-screen artwork. The Bothell Art Scene, an art walk featuring multiple participating shops and art studios, is held in the city's downtown. A series of murals on downtown buildings depicting Bothell's history and pioneers are among the city's other works of public art. The Northshore Performing Arts Center, which seats 600 people and was inaugurated in 2005 at Bothell High School, is the city's largest performing arts theatre. It is run by the Northshore School District and was made possible with the help of a volunteer organization. 

Bothell's major annual events include the Bothell Block Party and BrewFest in May, the City of Bothell Freedom Festival (a two-day festival celebrating American independence that includes an annual Fourth of July parade and a reenactment of the Battle of Concord on the Bothell Landing Bridge), the Bothell Friday Market (held weekly from June to September),  The Music in the Park concert series, every Friday in July and August at Bothell Landing Amphitheater, Greater Bothell Arts & Crafts Fair, City of Bothell Riverfest, The Summits of Bothell bike ride, Tree Lighting Festival and Santa Arrival, at Bothell Landing. Throughout the year, the city hosts a variety of unique festivals. Furthermore, 'Reader's Digest' named this city and nine other communities as "Nicest Places in America" in 2018, citing The Cup of Kindness Day, which took place on May 10.
